The global information management solution leader, EMC corporation (NYSE code: EMC) declares that China Mobile Liaoning Co., Ltd (referred as Liaoning Mobile) has formally disposed tits new technology of solid state disk or solid state drive (SSD) and become the first SSD user in China's telecommunication industry.

The solid state disk, also called as the electronic disk or solid state electronic disk, is a disk consisting of the control unit and the solid state smemory unit (DRAM or FLASH chip). As there is no mechanical component in the solid state disk, it features high access speed and low power consumption. EMC firstly applies FLASH chip solid state disk into the memory array, and unprecedentedly raises the performance and the energy efficiency. Through test, the performance of SSD is 30 times that of the traditional fibre channel disk, 30 pieces of fibre channel disk at 15,000rpm reach the same performance of a single SSD.

Liaoning Mobile adopts SSD mainly in the hope of improving the running efficiency of CRM system and raising the customer's perception. In the second half year of 2008, Liaoning Mobile decided to shorten the time for inquiry of call detail records in CRM system. In the peak business time, the speed of forming call detail records is greatly larger than that of entry, consequently, it leads to the overstock of call detail records. The "bottleneck" of entry of call detail records is the low speed of read/write index documents of related database. In Liaoning province, there are over 15,000,000 users in its 14 cities and 56 counties, the monthly call detail records is up to 3000 million pieces, and the index data of the file reaches 400GB approximately.
